LukeI keep my thoughts pretty guarded most of the time. Some of my friends and loved ones might call that an understatement, even. As such, any sort of bio I could try to come up with would probably wind up being pretty damn bland. Why bother? I'll just let the entries do the work for me. Essentially, I just spend far too much time lost in my own random thoughts and perhaps some of them might even be worth sharing. Whether it's a movie review, a particularly awful restaurant or just something that's been on my mind, I'll try to make a point of writing it up and posting it. "... But what I really want to do is direct."By Luke at 02/04/2008 - 18:21
Not only do I get to work on an upcoming amateur film project, I just got asked to direct it. At least there was one highlight to my Sunday (insert moping about anticlimactic football outcomes here). The movie is an adaptation of Pickman's Model - which happens to be my favorite Lovecraft story. The script is currently in the works, a little location scouting has been done and we'll begin storyboards once it has been settled. The tragedy of NetflixBy Luke at 01/28/2008 - 14:49
Why is it that I always wind up with movies that I really want to see, but just don't feel like watching now? I'm currently sitting on Rescue Dawn and Mullholland Drive - both of which I've been looking forward to for ages - but I just can't seem to sit myself down and watch them. Curse you and your taunting, Netflix! AdvertisgustedBy Luke at 11/06/2007 - 22:03
"There's always something more to Dr. Pepper." I was feeling disgruntled today to start with but when I stumbled across this while skimming over my seldom-read RSS feeds, I moved from disgruntled to outright disgusted. "You've been Capped!"By Luke at 09/27/2007 - 18:33
Rise KRAKEN! is looking like too much fun. Check out the details on Shep's blog, if you're into that sort of thing. While I absolutely adored Dead Eyes Open, I'm expecting this to be even better. Look into it, share the love, etc... And the Witty Quip of the Day Award goes to...By Luke at 09/11/2007 - 20:03
An exercise in frustration: More On Point goodness.By Luke at 09/10/2007 - 16:52
I was listening to Friday's show on The Reading Mind. While it sounded like an absolutely fascinating show - namely the effect of reading on the mental development of kids and the eventual effects on areas such as critical thinking, creativity, empathy and such - it unfortunately never quite lived up to its promise. While I don't entirely expect them to air shows custom-tailored to my preferences, I just felt like the conversation sort of ran away from the original intent. I felt like some of my fundamental questions were simply left hanging. I have to stop with the podcasts and start listening live, so that I can call in and pin them down, I guess. Need. more. ducks...By Luke at 08/20/2007 - 19:57
My dock just doesn't have quite enough ducks on it. I need to find more duck icons, I think. An entire dock full of ducks... a man can dream, right? Back from vacationBy Luke at 08/16/2007 - 15:31
What a difference a week makes. Just one week ago, I was sitting in a camp chair watching the rain come down. I had a good book, a dry tent, a couple bottles of cheap wine and no cell phone reception. Life was good. I'm back, however. The vacation was good and relaxing. The return of the daily grind hasn't really gotten to me yet. Eight or nine days without responsibility, electricity or running water does wonders on one's perspectives. |
