Simple.

Witwat is a rough transliteration of an Arabic word for bat. That's the small, furry, flying mammal kind of bat - not the hit the ball and run around bases kind.

The tough question is "Why?"

First off, all credit on the name goes to Laura and her extensive collection of stuffed bats. Same goes for the translation and the idea of the headers - which I wound up being quite enamored with.

Anyway, the real reason is simply because it's just fun to say. I get sick of spelling it at times but it still is mighty fun to say.
